UK Visa and Residency Overview

Visa/Residency Type Details Eligibility & Notes
Family Visa Duration: More than 6 months.
Apply from outside the UK.
Live with: Spouse, Fiancé(e), Child, Parent, Caring relative.
UK Ancestry visa Apply if you're a Commonwealth citizen, British overseas citizen, etc. Prove grandparent's birth in UK/Channel Islands/Isle of Man.
Residency Card Notice: No longer valid. Previous: EEA biometric residence card.
Tier 2 Work Visa Work in eligible jobs with approved employers. Replaces the Tier 2 (General) work visa.
Paid in Foreign Currency For those working for overseas companies. Note: Some lenders find this income unreliable.
EU Settlement Scheme For citizens from the EU, Switzerland, etc. Deadline for most: 30 June 2021.
